Fulfilling the Promise
ABOUT Fulfilling the Promise
In the context of the evolving the roles of the private, nonprofit, and public sectors in solving social problems, Shirley Sagawa identifies critical opportunities (as well as significant challenges) for social entrepreneurs to tap an action tank strategy, and outlines ways an Action Tank for Social Entrepreneurs could help: 1) Articulate policy principles for the Age of Entrepreneurship focusing on results, market principles, innovation, and cross-sector engagement; 2) Offer social entrepreneurs interested in action tanking concepts, tools, advice, and other resources; 3) Reduce the space between social entrepreneurs and policymakers by encouraging an array of interchanges; 4) Communicate and amplify social entrepreneurs' insights and impact; and 5) Support a broad movement toward specific, achievable goals.
