After reading an article about Barry Zuckerman in the Boston Globe, Rebecca Onie summoned the courage to call him. Desperately hoping that she’d reach his voicemail—she didn’t—she calmly explained how Zuckerman’s ideas for improving the healthcare system would fail if he didn't engage young people. His response? To invite Rebecca to spend six months in his hospital interviewing doctors and patients about their needs.
This leap of faith gave Rebecca a vision to start Project HEALTH, an organization that, as she explains, takes a leap of faith in college students who work to find holistic solutions to improve the health of impoverished families. Her message to the Gathering community is that the ability to take a leap of faith with someone else is what makes someone a social entrepreneur.
